Reece Burke
Lad who works at my place is a Bradford City season ticket holder. Hes been banging on this morning about how class he is, that initially all their fans were moaning about getting a young lad in on loan, and now want to try and get him all season. Composed and Class apparently, like a young Rio.

Well done lad, good to see youre doing well

Good to hear.

Re: Reece Burke
Surely this isn't news to any of us - he played in the prem last season and looked totally comfortable at that level.

The mystery is why he's on loan at all.

Re: Reece Burke
The mystery Alex is why you cannot understand him being on loan.

Maybe cos there's 4/5 in front of him?

Probably true, but that's exactly what I'm criticising.

Think he scored the other day as well. Good education for him, Bradford are a decent outfit.

Re: Reece Burke
Got a couple of Bradford Season tickets at work as well and they are raving about him, pretty much saying the same thing as the OP. Like Alex says it's no surprise that he is doing well at that level and perhaps should have maybe had a championship club but Bradford are a decent league one side and he will get loads of game time there so will help his development in that respect. Also they like to play out from the back at Bradford and Burke looks comfortable doing that so perhaps that was another reason why the loan was considered a good fit.

What? You're criticising the fact that we have a squad strong enough not to have to rely on a young kid to play every game?

Made his debut for England U20 last night too

Good to hear he's doing well there, and will help his progression.

Some people really are fucking stupid if they cant see this though.

Re: Reece Burke
Nothing stupid about wanting to see one of our young prospects developing through the first team. If we wanted the finished product we'd just buy someone.

Re: Reece Burke
Saw the goal he scored. Was expecting a typical central defender nutting it in but he showed some great control to bring a difficult, quick ball under control and composure to slide it into the back of the net.

I really rate Burke to be honest

Re: Reece Burke
It's the perfect place for him to get mistakes out of his system and develop as a man as well as a footballer, miles away from what he's used to.

There's some real bruisers in League 1 and they'll target him.

Delighted he's made a good start.

But he's not going to be in the first team yet!!!

Robson 3:25 Tue Sep 8
Re: Reece Burke
But perhaps he should be, like Oxford, though admittedly he has dropped down the pecking order now.

Exactly. After all, what good did developing young players ever do for the club?

Welcome to the golden future. Believe in better. Sky Sports.

Re: Reece Burke
This is great use of the loan system and developing the player for the benefit of our first team.

Burke wouldn't get any games for us at the moment unless there was a terrible injury crisis.

Collins will probably leave at the end of the season, Burke takes his place in the first team squad and we have a full compliment without forking out any money. Plus it helps our homegrown quota. Lovely.

Re: Reece Burke
You don't think that regular football, week in week out, is going to help his development? WOW.
